Our Story

Calla was born from a simple yet powerful realization: motherhood should be celebrated without compromising a mother's comfort and well-being. We recognised that the standard pumping experience was often a source of discomfort and frustration, rather than the peaceful, empowering journey it should be.

Calla was founded by Eva Nagy-Gannon, who, as a mother, found breast pumping to be an uncomfortable experience. Motivated by this, she set out to create a solution that makes pumping more comfortable by mimicking the natural way babies suckle.

The innovation behind Calla was developed at the University of Galway, Ireland, and supported through European funding via Enterprise Ireland. This foundation combines personal insight with scientific research to create a more natural and supportive pumping experience for mothers.
